On the 14th January the special general meeting of Sutherland Shire Hockey Association was well attended by it’s 5 member clubs.
The first item conducted was the change of name of the Association to Sydney South Hockey Association. The second agenda item was the adoption of the new constitution that has been worked on over the past 6 months by the working group. This motion was successfully passed & The Association would like to thank all members, clubs, and volunteers who assisted in that process.
Directly following the completion of the special general meeting the 2015 Annual General Meeting was held and the 2014 Annual Report was presented to the members and guests in attendance.
Current Life Member Lyn Smith nominated Kevin Connelly for Life Membership. Kevin has been a strong driving force in promoting hockey especially with school aged kids and was awarded an OAM in 2013 for his contribution to hockey. An article about Kevin can be found here on Hockey NSW’s website.
Life member Joan Silgoe then chaired the meeting to conduct the election of the new Board of Directors. Only the position of President required clubs to vote. Angelo Donni was elected as President and many kind words were spoken about Theresa Clews, his predecessor, and her contributions to hockey throughout her past years on the board.
A number of new members were elected this year which is good to see along with a new board structure. The 2015 board is as follows:

- Treasurer – Scott Tully
- Director of Game Competitions – Janice Tully
- Director of Facilities – Lyn Smith
- Director of Game Development – Matthew Rowling
- Director of Marketing & Communications – Mitchell Rowling
- Director of Representative Teams – Justine Maroney
The 2015 Annual General Meeting was then declared closed and the 2015 hockey season up and running!
